Cast Iron Skillet - Nobuho Miya
In Morioka City in Japan sits a small traditional Japanese-style building that houses the Cast Iron Foundry, Kamasada. For three generations, Kamasda has used locally extracted iron ore to produce a range of cast iron household items designed and made by artisan Nobuho Miya.
This shallow rimmed cast iron frying pan radiates and distributes heat thoroughly making it ideal for daily use. The sleek profile makes this pan lighter than most cast iron pans. Glazed for rust protection. Extremely durable and can be used both indoors and outdoors using a range of heating methods from open fire to ovens to induction ranges.
Pre-seasoning is recommended prior to use: pour a layer of vegetable oil in the pan and heat it until it's barely smoking. Remove pan from heat, discard oil and wipe with a dry cloth.
Care instructions: Clean after usage with hot water. Re-season as necessary. Do not put in the dishwasher. Use wooden utensils to avoid scratching the surface.
